Fatherhood 2.0

We’re here again to welcome a second child into our family!

Hello! As you can probably guess from the title, I’m over the moon to share that on 15th February 2025 at 6:51am we welcomed our second child, another beautiful little girl Elise, into the world! I am now the proud father of two little girls and I’m sure my life will now be even more full of plaits, dressing up and Disney princesses.

It’s been a busy few months preparing for the arrival of the little one and it was only on the day Emma went into labour that all of the works around the house were finally completed. The office/games room is no more and instead we’ve had open shelves, a murphy bed and a new desk area built in the other spare room.

This time I’ve only been able to take two weeks off work, as opposed to a lovely four week break with Evelyn, but hopefully I’ll be able to take some leave soon. I’ve been thinking a lot recently and honestly it’s crazy that you only really get two weeks leave as standard (and not even at full pay!) and you’re expected to jump straight back into work as well as all of your dad duties. I’m not quite sure what it’s going to be like working from home with a three year old full of energy and a newborn! It’s going to be tiring to say the least!

Whilst we’re only two weeks or so into life as a family of four, we’re already starting to plan out our travels; we really want to keep visiting new places. Hopefully this year we’re able to get away at least once as though travelling with one toddler wasn’t hard enough – that 14 hour flight back from Japan was interesting!

I might be quiet for a good few weeks now but I have lots of exciting things planned for the blog and life generally so stay tuned!
