Kata Beach, Phuket
Kata Beach, Phuket
Following on from our amazing stay in Singapore, we needed a bit of a break. Somewhere to relax with little exploring to be done. With that in mind, we’d booked to stay in the resort of Kata Beach on the island of Phuket in Thailand.I’ve been wanting to visit Thailand for a long time mostly for the food but also the beaches and Bangkok. Before we really looked into Phuket, I’d always thought that it was on Phuket where the towering cliffs and shimmering sands were but it turns out they’re on a separate island, Koh Phi Phi. Phuket’s reputation comes from it’s main town of Patong Beach where it’s all about the nightlife. We wanted something a little calmer so opted for a few beaches further south at Kata.If I’m honest, we didn’t do a lot at all. In fact, we didn’t leave the town of Kata Beach once. This post will therefore be very brief as I’m sure you don’t want to read all about my many many bowls of Thai red curry. All we really did was sunbathe (and yes I burnt again), swim, dodge the monsoon rains and drink good beer. I really enjoyed it here and it was exactly what we needed after Singapore.I promise though there’ll be much more for me to say on both Chiang Mai and Bangkok; both absolutely incredible places. For now, just look through my photos and I’ll be back soon with more.
Just added to my bucket list. Thank you!
No problem! You’ll have a great time!
Some beautiful shots you have there ! I personally find Phuket a little over commercialised. Did you visit Krabi ?
Thank you!! Glad you like them! I didn’t get chance to visit Krabi but I think I would have preferred it there – do you?
Krabi is quite touristy as well but i find it less crowded compared to Phuket. Sometimes in Phuket, i feel like i dont have enough space to breathe ! Haha
