The Monochrome Cities returns for its third instalment with a birthday trip to London. If you’ve ever wanted to see London captured in glorious black and white, now’s your chance. Fujifilm’s Acros film simulation delivers the goods as always.
Due to a combination of post-lockdown malaise, Emma’s pregnancy and the early days of Evelyn’s life, it’s been a long time since we’ve been for a long family walk together. That all changed recently when we managed a first Sunday walk with Evelyn at just eight weeks old.
It’s taken well over 12 months but I’m finally able to share the next collection of images in my Monochrome Cities series. With the lifting of Covid-19 restrictions, I was able to visit Manchester for the first time in almost six years and I found it lent itself to shooting solely in black and white. Manchester is a city full of colour, full of Victorian red brick buildings but when you strip that back you’ll find that the city’s soul still stands out.
